Silke Gaertzen, M. A.

Silke Gaertzen received her academic training in Theatre Studies, Sociology and Linguistics as well as Scottish Literature and Gaelic at the Universities of Leipzig and Glasgow, UK. As a student she acquired work experience in journalism at radio stations and daily newspapers. After completing her studies, she joined Degussa AG/Evonik Industries AG, where she worked from 2002 to 2014 as a communications officer in various departments – Corporate Communications, Project Communications and Corporate HR. In 2015, she joined RWZ Rhein-Main eG as a press and internal communications officer. From 2020, she worked as a PR officer for the Cologne Centre for Ethics, Economics, and Social Sciences (ceres) at the University of Cologne, before moving to the Centre for Life Ethics at the University of Bonn in the same role, where she also spent just under four years as a project manager overseeing the ‘House for Young Thinking’.
